With their barbed hides that deflect attacks, their intense fire blasts that blind opponents, and their tail triad that braids into a single powerful weapon, a Triple Stryke wins most bouts on intimidation lonely. But victory sometimes breeds vanity and exploiting this overconfidence is frequently the only fashion to defeat a Triple Stryke in battle. A Triple Stryke'southward braided tail is a strength to be reckoned with, but each tail produces a unique venom: A sting from the first tail numbs combatants, the second disorients them with mild hallucinogens, and the third creates an agonizing of called-for in your very claret. | " |

Triple Strykes use their tails as their primary source of assail and defence, every bit they prefer not to use their fire as much, every bit it requires a lot of energy.
Some Triple Stryke individuals, such equally Thorntail, posses unique toxins in their stingers that overwhelm their victims with the scent of flowers.

The lifting power of the Triple Stryke is strong enough to handle the weight of Toothless using merely one tail without any struggle while grabbing him in the air. The Triple Stryke has also demonstrated this lifting power by using the combined force of all its tails which acted like a hook to pull out a metal muzzle with a Razorwhip and Heather in information technology from the water and lift it out into the air during the events of "Sins of the Past".
The Triple Stryke is i of the few dragons shown to exist able to accept on a Night Fury, a dragon with a similar power level, even in a band as small as the old dragon loonshit on Berk. However in this instance Toothless was holding back and eventually stopped holding back to easily take Sleuther down. Thank you to their agility, the Triple Stryke has been seen to often perform a fast spinning defensive curl as it comes into boxing, similar to a Hideous Zippleback flaming wheel. The curl can be used for defense equally it has a thick hide, and its underbelly won't be exposed. Triple Strykes can also use this for an ambush attack, every bit its spins actually fast earlier landing and hitting its opponents with its tails, without being noticed or harmed. It can also be used if the Triple Stryke needs to become near its opponents without getting injured.
Endurance and Stamina
The Triple Stryke has a barbed hide, which protects it from attacks. Every bit it was able to accept the average powered plasma attacks from Toothless, it was able to fight for a long menses of time and able to wing a long altitude with him. Sleuther took straight shots from a Titan Fly Singetail and was still able to fly at the same speed while besides carrying Dagur. In addition layered on pinnacle of its scales, the Triple Stryke is armored with defensive plates from its tail to its head (other than its belly) with barbed, defensive and strong plates which deflect attacks, such as things like spines and arrows. These plates likewise increase its endurance in attacks, such as things like slashes or fire blasts.
Intelligence

He even went to his rider'south side when Snotlout mocked Dagur's proper name, rattling his tail to tell Snotlout to dorsum off.
Acid
The Titan Wing Champion Triple Stryke seems to be able to both breathe acrid mist and to shoot the same mist from their tails. Information technology is unknown if other Triple Strykes can do this. It is possible that the mist from the tails contains the typical venom in the stingers of other Triple Strykes.
Stealth

Vainness
Triple Strykes, similar to other Sharp Class dragons, are prone to exist overconfident and vain, traits which might event in their own downfall during combat.
Clicking Sounds
Equally seen in "Blindsided", the Triple Stryke makes a clicking sound with its tail right before information technology attacks. Those who tin hear the sound can anticipate the Triple Stryke's adjacent move.
Soft Abdominal Scales
Similar to many other dragons, the Triple Stryke'due south underbelly is weaker than the rest of its torso, meaning that an attack on this office could consequence in serious injury. This was shown during Sleuther'south fight with Toothless in the Dragon Fighting Loonshit, when Toothless shot a plasma blast at Sleuther'due south underbelly, incapacitating him for a few moments.
Behavior and Personality
Triple Strykes are merciless and formidable, stopping at no cost to destroy their opponents. Their sheer confidence and intimidating stature are enough to scare other dragons. With its incredible skills, these dragons are arrogant and sometimes over-confident, loving to flaunt its abilities. These dragons are vicious and relentless, equally displayed when it continuously attacked Toothless, and attempted to kill a Dragon Hunter. They are too rather scrappy, willing to selection a fight with any other dragon. Every bit shown by Sleuther, they don't give up hands and refuse to accept defeat constantly coming back to sprawl.
These dragons, however, are quite misunderstood. While seemingly merciless, these dragons do repay their debts and are incredibly grateful. They volition end at no cost to express their gratitude and respect. This is shown when Sleuther was spared past Toothless. Instead of killing him, he stood up and bandage a seemingly confused nevertheless thankful look. When the Hunters bankrupt in, he immediately prepared to defend Toothless, but when the latter told him not to impale a hunter, Sleuther obeyed with respect.
Training
" | Hiccup, maybe we should make room for the possibility that the Triple Stryke is just untrainable. [src] | " |
— Astrid, upon noticing how hard it was to train Sleuther |
These dragons are fierce and vicious, thus they are extremely hard to train. However, these dragons practise repay their debts. If shown mercy and kindness, the dragon will care for you with respect and compassion and will cease at nothing to protect you. As seen in "Blindsided", the Triple Stryke can also exist trained past clicking and clacking objects together, as it sounds like the clicks that the dragon itself makes. The possible reason why the Triple Stryke responds to clicking sounds is that it might call back that there's another Triple Stryke nearby. As Triple Strykes unremarkably do not welcome humans near them, the tricky role is getting close enough to one to railroad train information technology. Making clicking sounds volition distract the Triple Stryke, and let the Viking to come closer to affect its head.
